My Virginia Team
Meet Marry Tran Hoffstead, LPC-Resident
Education
Marry Tran Hoffstead is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. She earned her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Specialties
Marry brings experience working with adults and couples, specializing in marital/premarital counseling, relationship issues, and stress.
Therapeutic Approach
Marry takes an integrative approach to therapy, blending trauma-informed care, CBT, strengths-based practices, Choice Theory, and mindfulness to meet each client’s unique needs. She tailors her approach to help individuals feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey.
Philosophy
Marry believes therapy is about being human, not perfect. She encourages clients to focus on progress rather than perfection and understands that reverting to old habits is a natural part of the change process. Just as it takes time to develop habits, it also takes time to unlearn old patterns and build healthier, more productive ones.
Marry recognizes that everyone has gone through some “ish”; some experiences may feel worse than others, but that does not make your feelings any less valid. She often reflects on the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” as a reminder that we never know how many times a person has reinvented or improved themselves over the years. With warmth and compassion, she creates a safe space for clients to navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and reconnect with hope, passion, and dreams. She supports clients in exploring new goals and finding worth, hope, and meaning in their lives.
Availability
Marry offers telehealth sessions, providing flexibility for early mornings or late evenings.
