Meet Dawn Marie Hall, MA LPC, LCMHCS
CEO, Founder & Clinical Supervisor

I’m Dawn Marie Hall, founder and CEO of Dragonfly Counseling, PLLC, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.

I created Dragonfly with a simple belief: people deserve a place where they can feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported—not judged. That belief continues to guide how I lead our practice, support our clinicians, and approach the work of building an inclusive, compassionate space for care.

My clinical background spans more than 20 years, with a focus on adult ADHD, childhood and complex trauma, grief and loss, women’s mental health, and life transitions. Throughout my career, I’ve valued an approach that combines clinical knowledge with curiosity, practical support, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe meaningful care begins with understanding the whole person—not just a diagnosis.

My perspective has also been shaped by my own experiences of loss and rebuilding. After losing my husband in the line of duty, I gained a deeper understanding of how grief can reshape our lives. That experience continues to inform my compassion and my belief that healing does not mean forgetting where we’ve been—it means finding a way forward that makes room for all of who we are.

At this time, I have made the decision to step away from providing clinical services for a period of time so that I can give myself intentional space to focus on my own healing and well-being. I am not currently accepting therapy clients. I remain involved in Dragonfly’s leadership and clinical supervision, supporting our team as they provide care to our community.

Mentoring clinicians is a deeply meaningful part of my work. As a clinical supervisor in North Carolina and Virginia, I support developing therapists in strengthening their skills, finding their professional voice, and providing thoughtful, ethical, client-centered care.

Beyond Dragonfly, I’m passionate about advocacy, storytelling, and creating space for honest conversations. I host Love After Goodbye, where I explore grief, healing, identity, and rebuilding life after loss, and Jeremy’s Voice, a space for real people, real stories, and conversations that can inspire change—including perspectives from people who have worked within the corrections system, experienced incarceration, and their families.

Across my leadership, supervision, and storytelling, the same belief remains at the heart of my work: people deserve to be heard, and no one should have to navigate life’s hardest seasons alone.
